About Workie Ticket Theatre

Jojo Kirtley

Founder of Workie Ticket Theatre

JoJo Kirtley, originally from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne has spent the last 13 years, living and working in Manchester as a writer, producer and educator. Her work has been performed at The Lowry Theatre, Live Theatre and the 24:7 Theatre Festival. She is also the mother of two little boys.

Now back up North, JoJo aims to produce new-writing and create strong female leads with a Geordie twist. She is particularly interested in producing work in non-traditional theatre spaces, engaging disadvantaged groups in the community, facilitating workshops and making theatre accessible for all.

Friends of Workie Ticket Theatre

We have a growing number of artists who we are gathering as a creative Workie Ticket collective too. We’re looking forward to building a team and getting to work together.

A huge shout out to Elaine and the amazing staff at Newcastle Women’s Aid who we will be working with on our very first project ‘Hear Her Roar’.

Workie Ticket Theatre Company would also like to thank Karin Young for all her lovely support and brilliant advice.
